Spiritual Retreat

This day provides participants an opportunity to reflect on ways to be be awakened to the mystery of God calling us into communion with Him. Prayer, spiritual reading, reconciliation and celebration will be the basis upon which we move through the day. This day is led by Sr. Marcia Vinje and the staff of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.

For "make up," students who were unable to attend this session are asked to attend some other retreat of their choosing during this Lenten season.

Practicum in Spiritual Formation
This time was simply used as a part of the retreat this month. Morning prayer followed this order.

Class Notes
Sister Marcia Vinje opened the day with a session on developing a "personal ideal." While we all share in a universal call to holiness, each of us is called by God to a unique path in life. Discerning that path is part of the adventure of life. Sr. Marcia distributed and discussed the following materials:

Gary Gaudreau helped participants prepare for the Sacrament of Penance with a talk on the value of frequent confession. His outline is available here:
Michael Havercamp concluded the day with a session on lectio divina titled "Sacred Scripture: The Father Comes Lovingly." He distribute the following materials which were used in a small group discussion:

Set aside time to work on your personal ideal and personal examination of conscience.
Use the Spiritual Daily Order (blue book)which was distributed during the retreat to help discipline your daily prayer life.
