Format and Cost

Format

Courses are held from 7:45 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month from September 2007 through June 2008. (Note that sessions begin with Mass at 7:45. Classwork begins at 8:30.) All sessions are held at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center, located at 702 S. High Point Rd. in Madison, Wisconsin.

Cost

Cost for level 1 is $300.00, which includes tuition, materials, lunch, and refreshment breaks for ten sessions. $100 is due at the first session, $100 by the December session, and the final $100 is due by the March session. (You may also prepay at any time.) Limited grants will be available for those with financial need.

Level 2

The Lay Institute is designed in multiple levels. Level 1, described here, is an opportunity for any interested adult to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith.

Future levels, not yet available, will offer certification in particular skills for serving the parish community in such areas as: Catechesis, Parish Finance, Pastoral Ministry, Family Ministry and Liturgy.
