Our Mission

The mission of The Diocesan Lay Institute is to build up the body of Christ by providing adults continuing formation in the Catholic faith and the leadership skills training necessary to serve the parish community of faith.

Desired Outcomes

The Diocese of Madison lay ministry training program will assist in the ongoing education, formation, and training of those who wish to serve the Church. This institute will provide doctrinal and spiritual formation as well as discipleship training for adults wanting to learn more about their faith and put it into practice in service to their parish.

General Outcome
Participants, through study and prayer, will deepen their knowledge, skills, and commitment necessary for effective leadership in the Church.

Spiritual Formation
Participants will grow in their knowledge, understanding and experience of the Catholic spiritual tradition.

Intellectual Formation
Participants will grow in their knowledge and understanding of Scripture and Catholic doctrine.

Leadership Formation
Participants will develop skills important to the service of their parish community.
